Food Truck Round Up

Tuesday, July 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Metropolitan Square in Downtown Des Plaines

Everyone in the community is invited to attend! Play yard games, grab a bite to eat from one of the food trucks, and listen to live music by Justine Ewald beginning at 5:30 p.m. Limited seating is available and attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs.

Creative Party Muses will be on site providing FREE airbrush tattoos and face painting!

There will be a mini market with a variety of artisans in the Square including:

LeilaLove Bakery - Macarons and cookies

Art Worth Sharing - DIY paint kits

Soapie Squad - Handcrafted soap, lotion, and shower steamers

Dulce's Crafted Creations - Tumblers, keychains, and more

FaireWoodie's Goods - A variety of flavored roasted walnuts 

Chef Seba - Homemade sourdough bread and scones

Crochet Pearl - Crocheted stuffed animals and potholders

Menu items available for purchase include burgers, pierogi, hot dogs, Italian ice, frozen lemonade, chicken adobo, pancit, gyro sanwiches, pita wraps, chicken panini, ice cream, churros, and more! Avocado Theory is offering vegan options including an avocado falafel wrap, avocado egg rolls, and an avocado brownie. All trucks will accept both cash and card. 

We sincerely appreciate your patience, as you may experience longer wait times at this highly popular event. Food service ends at 8 p.m. Trucks may cutoff their queue lines to ensure those in line are served before the event ends. 

In addition to trash waste bins, we will have composting and recycling bins available. Visit the Sustainability Station where you can sort your food scraps, napkins, soda cans, and more into the appropriate bins!

Parking is available at the Metropolitan Square Parking Garage, Civic Center Garage, and the Des Plaines Public Library Garage. ADA parking spots are available in the Metropolitan Square Parking Garage.

Road closures around Metropolitan Square will be in effect on Tuesday, July 22 beginning at 11 a.m. Market St. will be closed from Lee St. to Pearson St. (Metropolitan Garage entrance still accessible) and Metropolitan Way will be closed around the entirety of the plaza.
